What or who is the hardest boss to beat?

Just who is the hardest in your opinion?

reply

omega pirate was fairly tough but out of all the bosses it was metroid prime personally

Yup, Omega Pirate was pretty hard. I have to say the Metroid Prime 2; Echoes bosses are cooler and harder, but Omega Pirate was hardest here, mainly because of the reinforcements.

I don't waste my time on technicolor nightmares
Gimme back those days in black and white

reply

yeah i agree, Omega Pirate was the hardest boss...Meta Ridley was hard too but not than the omega pirate

reply

Omega Pirate
Thardus
Meta Ridly (ridly me this, ridly me that, I ****ing hate that over-grown bat)
King Headsucker (Metroid Prime)
Flaagrah
the ones you fight in the very beggining (eg, incinerator drone)

Humanity is stupid, one person is smart, but humanity is stupid

reply

GAH! THOSE ARE A PAIN ON HARD MODE! I'm trying to attack the Omega Pirate, but he's got his siphon active, and then an ice pirate on the wall is shooting at me!

hate those. but Prime's second form is harder than hell on hard mode.

takes ALOT of phazon in order to beat it.

reply

I thought the Omega Pirate wasn't as hard as everyone thought it was. It took me one try. In no way was it easy but it wasn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be.

Here's my list

Metroid Prime (1st form)
Meta Ridley
Metroid Prime (2nd form)
Omega pirate
Thardus
Flaagrah
Queen Parasite

Also, why the hell didn't they have a boss in Magmoor Caverns? They could have done something so cool.

reply

[deleted]

The incerneration drone is a boss of Magmoor caverns.

The Omega Pirate was the toughest boss

reply

The incineration drone was in the Chozo Ruins.

reply

i thought omega pirate was incredibly easy although i found not many people found meta ridley as hard as i did. (he robbed me of my last 5hp!!!)

reply

Metroid prime (Second Form) is still kicking my ass after about 5 attempts.I beat Meta Ridley on my second go....anyone got any tips for beating the last boss?

reply

I Would Have To Say THe Metroid Prime, I HAD JUST KILLED HIM WHEN HE HAD JUST KILLED ME I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE JUMPED GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did That Happen To Anyone Else?

I see London I see France,
I see Samus kick some a*s

(censord for certant reasons)

Mmm... If you ask me the only boss I had trouble on was Metroid Prime - both forms, it was pretty unlucky for me as i never unlocked the Ice-missile combo. So whenever the bastard changed his armour so it was flawed towards Iced power shots. I was *beep* He'd basically light up a ciggerette and wait for a few minutes for the damn ice shot to reach him before deciding to change colour. And on top of that, them bastard metroids which come at you... god - it was so annoying.

Metroid Prime 2 - I hated for the simple fact, that I hated using the other visors. That and it was pretty 'terrifying' to be up against him. Don't know why, something about the boss creeps me out. Probably the fact it looks small and weak - then when it fights it's arms grow out into this Octopus type thing, and its moves kicks anybodys ass. And it just generally dissapears whenever it feels. And them Fusion Metroids which come out - or whatever they are called. Jesus - I hated Tallon Underworld mainly for the fact that you had to fight them metroids which split off into different coloured ones and you have to use to the correct beam to supress them. I think they were called Fusion Metroids.. I forget.

Imagine my dismay when coming up against the harder bosses in MP2. Oh god that Boost Ball guardian pissed me off.

Y'know, I finally caved on MP2 I haven't actually completed it, I'm stuck in Sanctuary Fortress - Dark Aether version of it though, so I've completely not bothered with doing anything with the game, until I can muster the courage to turn it back on :P.

The game.. freaks me out, nuff said. Lol...

Look into my eyes, do you see an ounce of "gives a *beep* .."..?

reply

I still haven't beaten metroid prime. My rule for video games is that if it lets you make it to the final boss, you should be strong enough to beat the final boss. I've been stuck on Metroid prime for about a year (I just gave up trying last November) He is the CHEAPEST final boss ever.

reply

I would have to say The Omega Pirate, Metroid Prime and Ridley.

BTW, I belive that Metroid Prime actually is a she...

Tuco88, i would like to ask, why would you say Metroid Prime is the cheapest boss ever? I thought it was a fun, challenging, and at many times a surprising boss fight. It's not a matter of being strong enough to beat Metroid Prime, it's a matter of whether or not you can control Samus properly. If your complaining about the whole multiple phase part of the battle, MP2E is full of multi-phase bosses (in fact, all of them!)

AS for my list of most challenging to least challenging bosses is as follows:

Omega Pirate (mostly because of the damn troopers that would help it)
Metroid Prime (both forms)
Meta Ridley (i loved this fight!)
Thardus (another good one)
Flaaghra (good fight, but slightly easy, which is good for an early boss)
Parasite Queen (very easy, but fun)

I'd still have to say, Metroid Prime has the best boss fights in any game I have played.

reply

Metroid Prime 2nd Form (because your lives weren't rerfilled)
Omega Pirate (because of those stupid troopers helping him)
Metroid Prime 1st form (the fission metroids before him were taking out whole energy tanks on me)
Meta Ridley (he was pretty easy)
Thardus (easy)
Flaaghra (easy)
Parasite Queen (beat him in 30 seconds)
This game was awesome.

"In order to beat your enemies, you must control them."

reply

not sure why but I had a really really hard time with the Metroid Prime, pissed me off so much that both times I've replayed the game I don't even bother to finish. But oh well. All the others were pretty easy. Omega Pirate was tough...but not that tough. Think I beat him on my second try. Meta Ridley was insanely easy, but VERY fun to fight, as Ridley usually is. All the others were cake.

reply

I have beaten Metroid Prime, but it is Echos that just really sent me off the edge. I played it until I simply couldn't stand the fact that it was quite possibly the most impossible game I had ever tried to beat. I could brave through Prime 1, Super Metroid and all the sidescrollers but this game just really got me thinking back to when the metroid games were good. Prime was awsome because it had awsome graphics and had a nice plot and stuff, but Prime 2 had a different feel to it, like it wasn't a Metroid game anymore, it was just another shooter. *sigh* oh well. . . .

reply

Omega Pirate is a freaking pushover. I can't believe everyone here says he is hard.
My hardest boss was Metroid Prime (shell). She wasn't too hard but was harder than the other bosses.

reply

I agree. I beat the Omega Pirate on my first try, Meta Ridley on my second try, and Metroid Prime(form 1&2)on my first try. Sadly, it took me all night to beat the hardest boss for me, Flaagra. So sad. So sad.

To me.

reply

You guys that say that the Omega Pirate was a pushover must never have played the game on Hard mode. He's a freakin' rapist there. You have less time to get a shot at hime when he's invisible, and there are more, smaller pirates, running around tormenting you during that time, so it's next to impossible to bring him down!

What's the best weapon to use against his armor? I've been using the heat beam or missiles, and it takes forever to break even one piece.

Hands down, (at least on hard mode) the Omega Pirate is the hardest--I still haven't gotten past him, and I have every piece of health in the game.

I thought the Metroid Prime boss was actually pretty easy--and overly predictable. It looked truly amazing, but at least you could get away from it and have the chance to fire some weapons at it! I spend the entire fight with the Omega Pirate jumping backwards away from him while trying in vain to get rid of that damn armor!

Metroid Prime 2 however: I still haven't finished the game! I've had it a year and once every other month or so give it another go. Last time, I finally beat that huge creature--first time ever! Then! GOD!! Then they throw that freakin' Phazon-enhanced Dark Samus at you again!! I didn't have any Light or Dark ammo left! I couldn't tell if I was even hurting her! THAT'S one of the hardest bosses I've ever seen in a game! How do you fight her!?

On Normal, Metroid Prime was the hardest. On Hard, Omega Pirate was by far.

Yeah, the plasma beam is stronger than the other beams and I might use the super missle if I get a clear show at his legs.
I spend the entire fight with the Omega Pirate jumping backwards away from him while trying in vain to get rid of that damn armor!
I just stay locked on to him, while walking backwards in a big circle the whole time.

When she starts floating in the middle, she has 2 attacks. 1 just shoots a blast at you. The other you will know is coming because a big blue ball of energy will quickly expand and shrink, then she will shoot off a bunch of little phazon particles. You have to use your regular beam, charge it up and suck up the particles untill your charge beam turns blue. You can now hurt her, but you only get 1 shot and then you have to suck more phazon up.

By miracle of all unholy miracles, I actually managed to go back in over the weekend and beat the Omega Pirate on Hard Mode. Once I figure out those remaining 4% of missing items, I can finally head on to finish the game with a 100% of collected items. I fought Ridley twice and lost, but he's still a pushover compared to the Omega Rapist. Over the weekend, I must've fought him 5-6 times. Once I polish off that 100% game, I'll give Prime 2 another go.

Thanks for that advice on fighting Dark Samus. Now I'll actually look forward to that immensly long battle.

Yah gotta hand it to Retro Studios--they've created about the most complicated and insane boss battles in the history of video games.

"First scan the guy, find out his weakness.
Then pick away at his 4 insanely strong pieces of armor, but don't get too far away, he'll shoot rockets at you.
And don't get too close, he'll pound the crap out of you.
When you finally knock him down, he vanishes.
Now fight the 2 or 3 beam-specific Pirates that come after you, but be quick!
Turn on your X-Ray visor, and look around quickly! Avoid that pirate you missed in your haste as best you can!
Once you find him in X-Ray mode, target him and pound away at him best yah can!
Now do this whole process at least two more times!
And don't forget to avoid those big messes of Phazon while you're at it!"

We've come a long way from "just shoot missiles at him while jumping over the stuff he shoots..."

Don't worry....you're not the only one Flaaghra got the best of. That thing pissed me off so bad......

I haven't played it in about a month but am VERY close to Omega Prite. As for the hardest boss so far, I'd have to say Flaagrah. Thardus was just way too easy.

Since I'm so close to Omega Pirate, can anyone give me tips on how to beat him? Gamefaqs doesn't seem to help me well enough.

reply

Metroid Prime in hard mode

reply

For Omega Pirate, you can also ball-boost your way into the room and get to the right side of his tank as quickly as possible. When you get to him that quickly, he's still in his sleeping animation after his tank breaks, until after you shoot him. This gives you a chance to take out a piece of his armor with a Super Missile.

Also, when you knock off a piece of armor and piss him off, he'll kneel in pain. Go into ball-morph and drop a Power Bomb, and it will remove his whole armor suit. Sit between two of the Phazon Pools so he's guaranteed to show up at the third, then before he appears, roll into (yes, sit in the pool) the Phazon pool and set off a Power Bomb. This will take off a huge third of his health. If you do it quickly enough, you can do this two more times at the other pools without him getting his armor back, and then he's dead.

Man, I finally played through Metroid Prime on Hard mode and you guys weren't lying. Omega Pirate was a real chore on Hard mode. As luck would have it I beat him on my first try. He was damn near dead and there were a bunch of pirates kicking my ass, when he finally died I had 32 energy points left of an original 13 energy tanks. So flippin close to bein dead. The Metroid Prime was actually really easy even on Hard. So was Ridley. Thardus kind of gave me some crap but he wasn't too bad. Hard is definitely different. I just finished a run on Normal and made it out in 4:56 with 90% items. I love that game.

reply

I hated meta-ridley

reply

The omega pirate was the hardest boss for me. It was also the closest fight I've ever had, by the end of the battle I only had 1 single unit of energy left, not 1 energy tank, just 1 little piece. not enough to sustain anything.

reply

Omega Pirate is actually pretty easy once you figure out how to hurt it.

Top three most difficult bosses in MP:

1. Meta Ridley. (Major pain in the *ahem*)

2. Metroid Prime. (Easy to damage, hard to do enough damage.)

3. (kind of embarassed to say this but,) The adult Sheegoth.

I could not figure out how to damage that blasted thing. Luckily, I managed to kill it by using Morph Ball and planting bombs around it. It was actually quite effective.

And those fission Metroids. I HATE those !@##$@%$% things! If I had a few more Power Bomb tanks, I could probably take care of 'em easily.

reply

Metroid Prime, there was seriously like six months between when I got to him and when I beat him. But that was mostly because I gave up trying for a while. As long as we're on the subject of hard metroid bosses WTF was with the spider thing in fusion? That was freakin' HARD!

reply

[deleted]

man, you guys SUCK.

took you people that many times to beat the omega pirate? took me ONE try to beat him, only losing one energy tank. hell, i only needed one try on EVERY boss in this game on my FIRST run through (no, im not trying to show off or anything).

only boss i had a bit of problem with was the second form of Prime only due to the fact that:
a) i couldnt be bothered changing the visor every 2 seconds
b) i was starting to fall asleep when i got to that part
c) and i really didnt care finishing it coz i forgot to scan meta-ridley >_<

damn Alpha Blogg and Chykka from metroid prime 2 though... DAMN YOU BOTH TO HELL!!!

reply

The bosses in MP are pathetic in difficulty. I've never lost to one. Now... MP2's Boost Guardian... THAT'S a beast!

The closest I have ever lost tgo a boss was probably Thardus on Hard mode. I forgot to refil my missiles (I had 10 or so left...), so I couldn't fire ANY super missiles. In the end, it all relied on me firing loads of quick power beam shots, praying that a rock wouldn't hit me. I have no clue how, but I only had 22 energy at the end. It was a bad fight. I could of done a LOT better.

LOL, seriously, guys, try doing a 22% run (or however low it is now). Now THAT is a challenge! (Especially in MP2).

...Hey, why the heck is my name Chrisfoss1? It was DaDude! Aww man...

reply

Ahhhhhhh, just out of curosity - and yes I'm playing in Hard Mode - did anyone find Quadraxis in MP2 to be suprisingly easy considering what you have to put up with?

I dunno, I got him first time without a full load-out as well. Half my missiles, and not exactly full ammo. Had my power-beam handy though :P

-----------------------------------
Look into my eyes, do you see an ounce of "gives a *beep* .."..?

reply

The Omega Pirate *beep* me right up the butt-hole the first 12 or so times I fought him. I mostly just screwed myself over due to the fact that seeing the biggest boss in the game made me panic, I didn't realize that there was a step between punch your face in and shoot you with a cannon, and third: I only had fifty or so missiles due to sucking at the back-tracking for power-ups. I then started the game over and vowed to scour every inch of land and when I got back to him with every single missile tank, energy tank (other than the one behind his room), and beam combo and he was a total pushover. I then kicked Ridley's ass on my first try and only lost a tank and a half to the fission metroids. Prime took out about 6 tanks in her armored form and another 3 in her essence form. I was incredibly relieved about not having to escape the crater manually, like every other game in the series, but I didn't have to. Being fully powered up, though, the first form of Prime was the hardest. Perhaps because I realized late what those holes in the floor were for.

reply

Personally I never had much trouble with prime himself, by that time i was used to switching between visors and weapons, the game builds you up for that fight.

IMO the hardest boss was of course
#1 The Omega Pirate, if it wasn't for needing to break his armor this would not be such a hard fight, though it takes nearly forever to break them with plasma or it wastes your missles away having to fire supermissles at him.

Next for me was
#2 Thardus, at the time this boss took me so many tries, since after all; it was the first time you had to get used to switching visors and weapons. [I used wave on the boulders he shot at me for the longest time, its just not a fast enough gun to take them down.] Also since your supply of missles isn't the biggest amount thanks to the jetpack pirates right before him, I was forced to use maybe 2 or 3 supermissles and rely on charge beams. Also it helps using boostball to get away from his own ball form, I just never clued into that.

#3 Flagrah, he's easy now but first time against him is the first time your getting used to the morphball and it's 3D wonders. [I just never got used to the 3D version compaired to the 2D one.]

The rest pretty much follow suit there, for those who fought ridly and had a tough time must not have known about the boostball glitch. [Or was it on purpose?] It was pure fluke that I figured it out, but it was worth it.

reply

meta ridley was hard it took me like 3 trys after that i was like f this and beat with out loosing 1 energy tank then i just getting to metoird prime was hard the only way to is power bomb it through. but metroid prime wasnt actually that hard just took a while after that tho when i beat the game and played it on hard i still cant get past omega pirate hes. i can get through most of it but those *beep* space pirates just come down and i get distracted and then i miss the chance to get him.

reply

I'll tell you what I hated the most, Impact Crater - just the level in general. I HATED doing it. *beep* Fission Metroids and they're ability to be gay. A POX ON THEM I SAY.

How few missles do you guys have??? You need 4 super missles for sure by my count. You can break the armor with 16 super missles(4 pieces of armor and you have to do it 4 times). Thats a total of 20(or 100 normal missles). Even if you don't have close to that, you can still use some super missles on the armor and the fusion beam on the other ones.

I thought Ridley's second form was tough until you could figure out the difference in how high the head is before it charges compared to when it breathes fire.

I thought the last boss was the hardest.
