Definately check out THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, HIGH TENSION(aka Switchblade Romance), THE HILLS HAVE EYES REMAKE, TOOLBOX MURDERS REMAKE

reply

Tobe Hooper's Toolbox: Good call on that one!!!

"They will say that I have shed innocent blood. What's blood for, if not for shedding?"

reply

THE LAST HORROR MOVIE!!

reply

The last horror movie isn't "scary" as such, but its pretty damn good!

Personally I can't really recommend much as really nothing scares me anymore, except some J-horror! (juon\juon2\the eye)

reply

gotta say hills have eyes remake, or high tension, the guy that did them is awesome

reply

A Tale of Two Sisters (unrated)

I personally find it more of an intelligent film than scary,
but my friends are always creeped-out the first time they see it.

reply

I highly recommend Ju-on(original Japanese version w english sub) and
Buppha Rahtree:Flower of the Night(Thai movie)

The Last House on the Left. It might not be as scary as it is disturbing. It was made in 1974 I think. I hear they are going to do a remake and pray to something that they don't *beep* it up. But basically, it's about a gang of thieves/rapists who rape/kill a couple of girls and then take refuge in one of the girl's parents house.

"Are you addressing I?"

The Last Horror Movie!!!

OMG, this movie was sensational! I have never EVER been so scared in my life, as much as I was after viewing the final message delivered by the killer. And not recognising a single actor in this movie at the time made the whole experience even more real and terrifying!

Tho I do think it would have been more effective if the title of the movie was called 'Your Last Horror Movie'! ;-)

So I aint holdin nuttin back, and muthafu**er I got 5 on the 20 sack!

reply

all the movies listed are just really beginners sh*t. watch cannibal holocaust.

Born of woman....recreated by OUTER SPACE!!

reply

cannibal holocaustwasnt scary. it was just sick. yeh, it was a good movie, but what they did to make it was just bad

reply

it's not scary in a make you jump out of your seat way because they don't go for those stupid little gags like mainstream horror. it's all deep psychological terror. to me the idea that people would burn an entire village alive just to make a documentary is scarier than someone coming to kill me in my dreams or some such sh*t.

Scary isn't just about gore, it's about atmosphere and the unknown. If you want a movie that has all of the about try THE DESCENT. Best horror movie ever.

reply

I would say 28 days later that movie scared the crap out of me and I'm not easily scared but this movie wow it was good and creepy but 28 weeks later not as good.

"the last horror movie" is complete crap... boring and unbelievable and really just a pathetic atempt!

umm scary? there really is none. after youve hit puberty, nothing is really scary. but the descent is real good! its got gore and frights ^^

reply

The Descent? The Hills Have Eyes remake? High Tension? THESE movies scared you people? I could see it if you just thought they were gory, but they SCARED you? Hell, these movies really aren't even that gory...

reply

The Orphanage... little kid ghosts... they scare me. On a related note: The Shining, but that's a give. I'd say with the exception of The Last Horror Movie, those are the only 2 movies that have scared me since I watched It when I was 8ish.

Drusilla, Buffy

Watch .REC(Spanish movie) with english subs at night with the lights off and the doors of your room closed and with a loud sound.

IF THIS MOVIE DOESN'T SCARE YOU TO DEATH YOU'RE ALREADY DEAD!

reply

This isn't a SCARY movie persay but... May is a really good psychological creepathon :]]

I agree with the people who said The Descent. Another movie kind of like it that it is creepy but still pretty cheesy is Catacombs.

You know... When I said this place was Snugsville... I guess it's really BUGSVILLE! - Sick Girl

reply

you have, have to see The Children. it will creep you out so much and petrify you so much you won't know what to do.

reply

The Orphanage was awesome. Things in that movie that make no sense at first are integral to the plot when you really think about it afterward. I can't even get over how awesome that movie was.

reply

Haha, yeah I think it was one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. Although, I just saw The Last House on the Left remake, and I thought that it was awesome. Not really scary, exactly... but a fun horror movie with lots of gore :)

I liked The Last Horror Movie, Kevin Howarth played a great psychopath, and it had a couple of good gags. The ending was especially creepy, and had I not downloaded it from Netflix.com, I would have been more scared.

I don't care who rules the world as long as they don't get in my way.

I'm 32 and The Exorcist III (Legion) still scares me. Creepy atmosphere and some great scenes between Brad Dourif and George C Scott. Also, some of the best jump-scenes in horror movie history. Watch it at night, lights out, preferably by yourself (horror is always scarier if you watch by yourself). If it doesn't creep you out just a little, nothing will. This, IMO, is scarier than the original. Don't get me wrong, I love the original and it scared me when I was a kid (I even have a portrait tattoo of Pazuzu), but I just think the third film is perfect. It's probably so underrated because the second film was so terrible.

REC, The Descent, 28 Days Later and 30 Days of Night.

See if you can finish 'Salo: 120 Days of Sodom'.

reply

Depends on what scares you really. If it's old-school horror Evil Dead in parts is very scary and the 1st Hellraiser. If it's psychological fear you'd have to go for Jacob's Ladder (not really horror) or Rosemary's Baby. Then there's the borderline gore/torture/psycho French movie Martyrs. And if it's graphic, violent, disgusting, in-your-face exploitation there's always:

Cannibal Holocaust
Philosophy of a knife
Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma
Aftermath
August Underground's MORDUM
Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood
Psycho: The Snuff Reels (aka Tumbling Doll of Flesh)
All Night Long 2: Atrocity
Africa Addio
Men Behind the Sun
Guinea Pig: He Never Dies
Guinea Pig: Android of Notre Dame
Faces of Death
Faces of Death II
Make Them Die Slowly
The Untold Story (The Human Porkchop)
Visitor Q
Imprint
Mondo Cane 2
