So what are some of the changed that they made from the book Someone like you? Here are some that I remember
1. The ending
2. Macon and Haley meet in gym
3. Elizabeth (somthing) has more of a role in the book than the movie.
macon and halley do not meet in gym in the book...they meet in scarlet's bedroom and then they become closer while in gym

shareIt's great, much better than the movie. The movie took on too much with both the books. If it had just been the Someone Like You storyline it would have been much better. You should definitely read it.

The movie is based on Someone Like You and That Summer, so some of the differences are because they are using two different books. The reason Halley's parents are divorced in the movie is because they are divorced in That Summer. But read the books, they are a million times better than this movie. I personally like Someone Like You much better than That Summer though.

the characters in the book are better, i dont think alexandra w/e was a good choice at all for scarlett, and personally neither was mandy for halley.
And she didn't have a sister getting married in the book.
shareI haven't even seen the movie but Someone Like You is the best and I don't think they should've combined books. I also don't think the characters for Scarlett and Halley are well casted at all. Scarlett was beautiful in the book, exotic as Halley described it. She just seems plain, or she does in what pictures I saw of her. They should redo the movie, make it totally about Someone Like You, and really cast the characters right.
LOVE THAT BOOK.
Also Haley's grandmother died, which was a big deal to her. I feel like the movie was nothing like the books, and the books are my favorite! I was so disappointed I never want to see the movie again

They shouldn't have tried combining those 2 books. They're both completely different storylines. Someone Like You is so much better though.
On the other hand, I didn't realize they had even made books by Sarah Dessen into movies! I think they should do "Just Listen" or "Along For the Ride" into movies :)

I LOVE Someone Like You its such a great book but the movie is just not as great. Ive never read that summer I dont know what it is about. But Just Listen is great it would be a cute movie
