We watched "Elf" also for Christmas, it is the only Will Ferrell movie we like.

But my personal favorite for Christmas is "Forrest Gump", if you look beyond the fantasy of his escapades there is a great message to the whole movie. I watched it half on the 24th and the second half on the 25th.

I also like "Scrooged" {with Bill Murray} and "The Santa Clause" {Tim Allen)movies. And even though it's not really a Christmas movie, but Wizard of Oz is another holiday favorite. I really don't care for "A Christmas Story", the plot just seems like a bunch of random scenes thrown together.

Definitely Elf, probably followed by the second Santa Clause movie.

My favorite Christmas movies? Definitely the first two Home Alone movies. Also love the Santa Clause movies, The Grinch(both Karloff and Carrey), The Rankin/Bass specials, and Elf
