Donald Trump supporters must love this movie.

Bahahahah. Climate change and Mexicans! What are you going to do if you build that wall? Can't escape to Mexico then.

I'm not a "Trump supporter (although I will probably vote for him if he's the nominee) but I'm sure they'd just laugh at this movie because it's ridiculous and was meant to be scare tactic.

Climate change is real. It has happened many times since the Earth's creation so it's logical it will happen again. But man-made global climate change is fantasy and every week or so another major scientist is changing their mind about climate change being man-made.

As others have pointed out, one large volcano eruption puts out more harmful gases than all the cars in the U.S. produce in one year. Over a period of our time those eruptions have produced more harmful effects that humans ever could have.

Really? It would be good if you could provide links to all these "major scientists" changing their minds every week or so. Or any of them.

Yeah, I'm not seeing many "major scientists" in those lists. They do, though, include Jeremy Corbyn's brother, who runs a weather forecasting company, claims to be able to predict earthquakes and has been dismissed by the scientific community as a "faith healer of the geologic community."

I am seeing 63 names, many of whom don't actually work in the relevant field. Even if we pretend that these are 63 "major scientists", over the 26 years since the IPCC first reported, 63 names doesn't represent a name "every week or so". It's about one every 6 months.

And I'm seeing those names listed under a introduction that states: These findings are recognized by the national science academies of all the major industrialized nations; the consensus has strengthened over time and is now virtually unanimous.

Whether one believes in man-made climate change or not, I think the consensus would be that your post was a gross exaggeration.

Whether you agree or disagree on man made global warming, I find the lack of willingness for debate and trying to silence those who disagree with a certain viewpoint disturbing. Anyone who disagrees is made to be an idiot or discredited. And those who agree are not all left wing environmentalist nut jobs. But more and more, I see less debate about facts and more people just trying to discredit those who object. Most people are going to be biased on the subject one way or another, and there are certain data that either side could use to help prove their cause. So to me, subjectively picking which facts are used is not being a scientist, it's a political agenda. If you read some articles from 20 years ago from people who say "it's a fact", Miami would be underwater by now. And to say man isn't responsible at all is probably not accurate either. I think it's a shame both sides use have turned something as potentially important as this into a political thing, and use scare tactics such as this movie to perpetuate their agenda. personally I think the truth is somewhere in between. The left has tried to scare us with predictions of global catastrophes for decades. And now, everything is global warming. Cold winter? Global warming. Hot winter? Global warming. Hurricane? Global warming. Not everything is caused by global warming. There have been hurricanes and temp fluxiations for long before we have been charting it. And to also say man hasn't caused the environment to change is also blind to me. I don't like being told by know it all main stream media of how I should think or I am ignorant. I think this also is part of the reason Trump was elected. People are tired of being told by people on the coasts what we should or shouldn't think, and if we disagree we are ignorant or a bigot. So for me, I'll look at the evidence myself and come to my own conclusions. And to me, with global warming, that appears to be somewhere in the middle of the 2 extreme views. I am happy to see any evidence either way though, and not just pick the evidence that suits me. Just my opinion.

Just so everyone knows, the 12th century was a lot warmer than today and there was no industrialization.

That's because if you still disagree at this point you are an idiot and deserve to be discredited. I know the truth hurts sometimes.

I like that part, at this point.. so now you know for sure climatologists all have it perfect now. Back years ago when they were predicting all these warnings about what would happen by now that haven't happened, people like you were saying the same thing. But THIS time, you know you are right and everyone else is just an idiot. You no more know for sure all the effects and what will happen than anyone else. The difference between you and me, is that I can admit we don't know everything and the full effects, and are still learning. It's the attitude like you just displayed that makes people not want want to listen. "I'm so smart and anyone who doesn't believe 100% what I do is an idiot" means you are perfect, and the track record so far has proved otherwise. The truth hurts you more to admit that you may not know everything but can't seem to come to grip with it. Not listening to opposite viewpoints will of course make you think yours is right. Like I said before, I am not denying climate change, I am saying we don't know the full effects, and certain sides have tried to scare us with predictions and exaggerate the effects, and many of those have not happened. There is debate whether you like it or not. I don't know what makes you so bitter over that. It's not like I said "climate change is fake news" or some crazy idea. You simply proved my point that this subject has become one where the left is not willing to debate, and wants to discredit and silence anyone who disagrees with them. Thank you for that lol.

When I saw the movie at my local cinema, the scene where the American refugees crossing the Mexican border illegally, there was a loud laugh from the audience. Why, you may ask? Because even anti-immgration fanatics (even though they'd never say it out loud) know that if, as it states in the movie, there was some kind of major disaster and the only way to escape it meant that Americans had to get into Mexico (either legally or illegally), they'd get their asses down there ASAP. And anyone who says otherwise is a liar or delusional (or a little of both).

Human induced climate change is definitely real. (Even some Republicans believe it.) Though I recently read a book by James Hansen - Storms of My Grandchildren - in which he said that as long as the human race is around, there will never be another ice age. He talked about The Day After Tomorrow in passing.

Regarding Trump's Wall, I suspect it'll end up being a white elephant. The next Democrat president after Trump will probably end up pulling it down.
