Any hope that this show could get a new DVD release?

This is one of my favorite shows of all time but for some reason i did not buy the DVDs when they came out and now most of them are really expensive or not available anymore at all.
I really want to own this whole show on DVD so is there any hope that they could release new DVDs or a DVD box set in the future?

That's a boxset of the original series, he's talking about the 4Kids one.

Whoops. I forgot which forum I was on when I posted that. I was looking at this forum, the one for the 80s series, and one of the movies and then came across this post.

Yeah, I'd like to get a boxset of the 2003 series myself.

I'm not the only one with a little bit of [crap] in their pants, now am I?

The more time that goes by, the more unlikely it is that a new DVD set will be released for this series.

Given that this show wasn't as popular as the original series and now there's a new show that's been well-received, there's really no rush to re-do a new set for this show, which is a shame because it was really good.

I'm with you on wanting the DVDs... I own 3 episodes from season 1 on DVD from the meet Casey jones volume. I would really love to own them all.

keep combing the web for deals on the old dvds like amazon marketplace and ebay. i was smart enough to start picking them up right before the series finished and put together a great set of the entire series seasons 1-5, although i had to assemble my set for season 3 since it was never released as a large set. this is what i have, look for these:

season 1 part 1 - 2 discs
season 1 part 2 - 2 discs

season 2 part 1 - 2 discs
season 2 part 2 - 2 discs

season 3 - i collected all the individual episodes from the smaller dvd collections and assembled them into a 4 disc set like the first 2 seasons.

season 4 - first half i did the same, collected all the individual episodes from the smaller dvd collections and assembled them into a 2 disc set like the first 2 seasons.

season 4 - 2 disc set: contains all the episodes of the second half of season 4.

season 5 - ninja tribunal 2 disc set: this set contains all 13 episodes of "the lost season" season 5.

its amazing how cheap all these dvds were at the time i bought them when the show was on its last season on tv and how astronomically the price has gone up since then. at the time i think the show was unappreciated and taken for granted and people were unloading the dvds for peanuts. i picked up the season sets on amazon for 8 bucks a piece. the most expensive one i bought was season 5 the ninja tribunal for 30 bucks, and now that lists for hundreds of dollars.

every episode of the entire series did see a dvd release, though seasons 3 and 4 were never properly packaged into season sets like 1 and 2 were and are more spread out, but they are out there. i dont consider the seasons after 5, fast forward and back to the sewers, part of the primary series but instead spinoffs so i dont own them.

This is exactly what I'm wanting.
Are they all widescreen or 5:3?

When Nickelodeon bought TMNT from Peter Laird, they spent an additional $10 million dollars on buying this particular show. Apparently the other day they mistakenly showed a bumper "commercial" for what was supposed to be the new show coming on, but they showed one for THIS show instead. That may not mean anything, but most likely it's a sign that they may start airing this show on Nick and I'm sure there will eventually be a new DVD release. They will most likely want to make money of this show buy may wait a bit since they are riding high on the new show at the moment.

I've been waiting for this show for such a long time. I've been tempted to buy the uber-expensive sets on ebay but have held out for the eventual re-release.

Maybe after the 2012 series ends and the franchise goes on a lull?

Given that Nick seems to be rerunning this version lately, I imagine a new DVD release isn't that far off. It's available to stream on Amazon as well, so a new DVD release should be on the way eventually.
