Could somebody please give me couple of example of how Hamtaro was censored when it was dubbed into English.
Things like removing all of the times the ham hams called boss a pedophile.

I had kind of figured that one out myself. They translated it then cut and shut the script, rather than dubbing it then cutting it afterwards.
It's pretty normal for anime. They work out all of the bits that right wing conservative parents are afraid of, then they dub accordingly.
It would be nice if it was the other way round though (dub then censor, not censor then dub). That would mean that we wouldn't have to wait three years for the uncut versions to come out.
It was obvious that there was meant to be a lot more to the Hamtaro-Bijou realationship, was there much else that was censored before they dubbed?
Other shows like One-piece lost a quarter or more of their original material to American censors. CCS lost the entire last season.

It's just a pitty that American censors are so prudish, why can't they just leave anime alone. There are pleanty of people who want to see an acurate version, and there are pleanty of anime that can be dubbed without the need to censor them.
For the record, here's a list of some of the most common things that are censored in anime
* pre-teen dating and romance
* homosexuality
* Anything that could remotely be interprited as homosexuality (eg Tomoya and Sakura's relationship in Cardcaptors)
* Cross dressing (except in Pokemon, where it appears to be OK)
* The death of a parent or friend
* Firearms (eg one peice, where they are swapped with wackey gadgets)
* Smoking (eg captain smoker from one peice)
* Foreign religions
* Any mention of porn or pedophilia, or anything that could be interprited as such
* Boob jokes (eg 'stage presence' in sailor moon)
* Environmentalism (no really, they cut almost all mention of environmental protection out of several anime, for example warriors of the wind and Tokyo mew mew)
* Any negetive coment about the US ocupation of Japan after WWII
* barby doll nudity (for example, the transformation sequences in the SM movies)
* foreign names
* pacafism in the face of a military threat
* children drinking coffeee (for example, Kiki's delivery service)
* villians who aren't really wicked, but aren't exactly good either (eg, warriors of the wind)
* anti-nuclear messages

At least it's not like that in English versions.

It's corrected that Anime should be left alone and that These things were NOT edidted out in England (In America they were)
shareI know that some shows like CCS were censored both before and after they were dubbed (the US version is half as long as the Canadian version, has a different episode order, and half several instances were two episodes were censored in to one episode), but I've seen quite a few of the UK episiodes on the European Fox network (on a channel that is now called Jetix Max), and YES they were edited too. They censored Hamtaro before they dubbed, so a lot of the censored parts were never produced in English at all. I don't know about the Bijou-Hamtaro thing (it was toned down in the UK release, but it was still very visisble), but they certainly removed all of the 'pedophile' and 'she's' half your age parts with Boss and Bijou.

I don't know if it made any difference, but I watched it when Jetix was still Fox and it mos certainly didn't have any of the pedo stuff in, and I can't get TCC on my cable package (I'm not continental US so I can't say).
It's still a shame though, I am firmly convinced that US kids are being sheltered from a lot of things that Japanese and European kids are not, which is why there are so many problems with American children hitting their teenage years, finding out that the TV has been lieing to them, and then either going off of the rails or sinking into depression at the first glance of the real world.

I've also just been talking about Fox Kids, and that doesn't exist any more either, it changed its name to Jetix.
I couldn't get TCC when it was around.
