Gregory was likely expected to be the one to find stardom. At least early in the series. Emily was cute, Chris was pleasant and laid back. Neither seemed to have the fire for stardom. Yet those two became big stars, while Gregory got one Canadian TV show.
No judgement here. It's just interesting how things turn out. Like Jennifer Lawrence being a so-so teen on the Bill Engval show, then becoming a huge movie star!

Was he? He was never really a fan favorite the way Chris (or rather Bright) was.
