Most Annoying Everwood Couple is...

Andy and Amanda Hayes (the woman who was married to the stroke victim). This romance ticked me off more than any other romance I have ever seen on that show - really on any show. The whole thing was not only morally wrong, but Amanda was just OBNOXIOUS even if she had been single.

Who is your most annoying Everwood couple?

^Same. I hated Amanda/Andy. While I loved season 3 for the most part, I found this storyline to be pretty awful. I wish they hadn't acted on their feelings. It screwed everything up.

I could say Topher/Hannah, but I didn't find them annoying. I just didn't want them together, but that's b/c I loved Bright/Hannah. Still, it was a good way to start Hannah off. Topher was a sweet guy.

& I also didn't particularly enjoy Tommy/Amy. But I know why they incorporated it. It was necessary to show Amy's character crashing. It worked well as a paralell to Ephram/Madison too.

I think Amanda/Andy as well. Amanda's character was just annoying period to me, and I couldn't wait for their relationship to end. Dr.Brown just had a tendency to pick doomed relationships.

reply

I liked Linda/Andy, even if it was inevitable that it would end badly.

Oh, Linda/Andy were a very good couple. I was floored when she revealed that she was HIV positive. Such a well done story line.

reply

:'( I know! I'd say season 2 was the most emotional for me. With the Amy's depression, the drugs, Linda being HIV pos, and the Madison/Ephram relationship.
I realllllllly liked Linda/Andy and was heartbroken when the broke up; And when she was basically run out of town. -_-

I can't even say which season made me the most emotional, because they all did. Amy's depression story line was heart breaking, and Emily did a great job with it.The whole town's reaction to Linda's HIV was shocking.

reply

Having just finished season three, I can say that made me the most emotional. I watched the last four episodes back-to-back and they really, really bummed me out. Everyone was sad and in such horrible places that it made the episodes really depressing...then Natalie Merchant started playing and it started bordering on suicidal. When Amy tells Hannah her mother has cancer or when Amy's dad tells her, her mother can't make it to her graduation, they were just such sad scenes made even sadder by Emily's brilliant performances. She can really cry.

Every single woman Andy was with save for his wife. I even found the storyline of him and Linda to be rather contrived ... hey I can't carry on with this relationship because I'm HIV positive while being a do-gooder. Gag me.

Yeah, the Andy/Amanda storyline was pretty bad. It ruined the entire third season for me, personally.

Bright and Hannah were pretty annoying, too. On one hand, I think their polar opposite personalities made for an interesting relationship, and they had their sweet moments, but most of the time, Hannah's over-the-top awkwardness and insecurity was just too much. I liked the innocence of her character, but she could have loosened up just a little bit. Of course, the show didn't last very long, and if they had been given another season or two, we might have been able to see a less extreme version of Hannah's character over time.

Actually Hannah was starting to relax. The Hannah of the start of season three was a lot more uptight than the Hannah at the end of the series. Would have been interesting to see what happened. To bad we robbed of season five.

reply

This.

I never had problems with Hannah, so I was fine with her in early season 3. But it was still obvious to me that Hannah was growing up and evolving as the series went on. She did loosen up, but at the same time, kept in line with her personality. She didn't like to party, but at least she did experience it...which is something early s3 Hannah wouldn't have done.

I fully agree!

The Andy/Amanda relationship was the one point where the show faltered and laid on one too many "town scandals." It was one after another, and when that one came, it was the tipping point for me and I just had to skip a couple episodes of it because I couldn't take anymore romantic scandals, that one least of all. So, Andy/Amanda would be mine as well.

reply

Wow, didn't think I'd be alone in this, but...

Most annoying, to me = Nina & Jake, by a wide mile.

Hannah often annoyed me on her own, but the oil & water aspect of her & Bright mostly worked. Over time we saw how many ways they really were alike; it was a nice payoff.

I didn't judge Andy for Amanda. That affair was his equal and opposite reaction to his constant pressure (especially on himself) to do the right thing for/with his kids and patients. It was consciously selfish, and very human. Pre-Nina, he lacked the balance to look past his attraction to someone and see their suitability (married/HIV+/nomadic life, etc.) as equally important.

I still don't know what Nina and Jake had in common. She never seemed like herself, or relaxed with him. When Andy first kissed her, the day Jake moved in? I always thought it would be ultimately revealed that Jake saw that kiss. And that's why he immediately hauled her off to Hawaii and bought the restaurant. To create distance from Andy and obligate her to him. And it worked.

At first, I didn't even care if she wound up with Andy. As long as Jake was out.

reply

Definitely Andy and Amanda. Ugh. Just Amanda on her own annoyed me so much, then you add the fact that she was married to one of Andy's patients. I hated them together.

reply

Agree that Andy and Amanda were a terrible couple and that Amanda was obnoxious. I was losing respect for Andy when he was in the relationship. I never had respect for Amanda; she got on my nerves!

reply

Just finishing up season 2 but so far Linda and Andy, I just do not like character of Linda. Although I watched this when it first came out I don't really remember Andy and Amanda so my opinion may change when I get to that part

reply

I am not a fan of Jake and Nina. Jake is such an ass and Nina is so co-dependent.
