It was shot using The Imax technology. Until the Wachowski brothers bought hundreds of new reels so they could show the Matrix Reloaded at the Imax uncut, most Imax movies remained under an hour. Even Star Wars Episode 2 which was shown at Imax was cut down considerably to fit on two Imax 50 Minute reels.
