what really bugged me was the scene where waste13 was being burned alive, when the labor shell it's wearing falls off and reveil it's disturbingly gigglish "breasts". somehow i think it meant something, but what?
maybe it's trying to show that waste13 is indeed partly the daughter resurrected?

I think you got it. It was supposed to show us that it's more human that in first appears. It make s the act of burning it alive that much more devastating, because they're not just burning some creature, but something that's part human.
I do have to agree with you that that particular shot could have been done a little, well, a little less silly. It just draws all the viewer's attention towards the jiggling breasts, and at least for a moment, the viewer can't think of anything other that the breasts themselves, and not what they represent.
I already had the idea it was female after all the mentionings of it having the cells of a dead girl. So I wasn't too surprised for it to have breasts.
