This Movie Has A Certain Charm

And it makes it enjoyable. It's no masterpiece, not by a long shot. But it's a good adventure flick. The chemistry between the cast is just right. The laughs are there. The landscape and visuals are there. The villains are really detestable.

Is it campy? Sure. But it's well crafted and well acted. Yes there are plot holes, but there aren't many films, even hailed masterpieces that don't have their problems.

All in all this is a good flick, especially if you're a fan of treasure hunting films, like National Treasure or Indiana Jones.

I could not agree more. There's things wrong with it, sure, but I still like it. I'll have to stop watching it though, the more I see it, the more the mistakes start to annoy me. Don't want that!

Agreed. This film, while certainly not perfect, is entertaining. And that, when you come down to it, is what most films are for.

I've seen it quite a few times now and agree with the OP's contention about the charm factor. It's difficult to deny Sahara's entertainment value.🐭

It's a great movie. It just came a little late. This movie would have been much better received in the late 90s. Wasn't quite what the general audience wanted at the time, and fans of the books wern't happy with it either, which left it with a very slim appeal factor. I agree totally that this will be remembered as one of the better treasure seeking adventure films of the era.
