ANCIENT CANNON AND CANNOBALLS SCENE

the scene where Dirk and Co. use the ancient cannon and cannonballs to blow up Kazim's chopper is that actually possible or did the rebels use a RPG"S to blow up the chopper ? I like to think the later cause you do see the rebels brandishing RPG'S later on but also I think it would be cool if that old cannonball DID actually have some power left to blow up like it did.

Watch the film again a little slowly and you will see the cannonball ignite and blow up the chopper.

A few years after the release of the film,a man was actually killed by an ancient cannonball from that era he was examining. So, it can happen...

Yeah, I saw the fuse on the cannonball burning and it exploded. I think some old cannon balls are designed like that. When fired, a fuse in the ball ignites, slowly burns and the cannon ball explodes at some point, hopefully overhead or in among the target area.

Do you need a bowman!?

reply

During the Napoleonic wars both the British and French became very VERY expert at cutting the fuses to the right length to give explosions EXACTLY where they wanted them. Like you say, often as airbursts.

... is that actually possible ...
I'd have to say highly unlikely, but yes, just about anything is possible, given the right set of circumstances and yes again, the cannonball did ignite.🐭

Ancient? A couple hundred years is not "ancient."
