Explain the ending (Spoiler)
I've watched the show several times and I can't really understand why Pete was never in danger. That he survived. Can someone help me out?

He was a descendant of the family, I believe, and they didn't want to curse their own. [shrug]

Pete was never in danger because he was Scottish and so was Murray. Everyone else was killed because they were British (or American in the case of Paris). It was the British who took Murray's eyes, so it's the British he wanted revenge on. This is why Pete wasn't attacked in the basement.
