Life was way worse then shown in this hell on earth

I just saw this movie and being a Catholic school girl where our "teachers" were nuns, this brought back a lot of anger and hatred and kicked my adrenaline into high gear.
The cruelty did not surprise me at all but still I wanted to kill all the nuns. They are horrible, evil and sadistic people.
They are supposed to be good and kind and they are the exact opposite.
In the trivia section of this movie on IMDb, it says that someone who was there said it was WAY worse than what was depicted.
No shock there.

This was a very good movie but hard to watch. I felt so sorry for all the girls and just wanted to rescue all of them, then grenade the building with the nuns still in it. Or maybe Napalm?

Everyone have a great Independence Day weekend!

My wife and i are watching it for the second time, we saw it in the movie theatre in 2003. We both get angry, more so this time than before.
I was in school with the male version of these scum, sadistic, evil, inhuman swine.
So many of these young women ended up insane, driven there by the church.
Religion, the tool used to oppress people
to this day.

I totally get angrier each time too. And my brother was with the male version of the scum as well but thank goodness, he only tolerated them for one year. Then he went to public high school from 10-12.
and I completely agree with you in that religion is used to oppress and people and also, an excuse for war.

Prklinect I feel your pain, really. I went to parochial school for 9 years and went through hell. They made it a point to crush every original idea I had. So far I have not watched this entire movie. I get to some parts and stand up and run from the room. Years ago they were really good people but over the years the only people left were from the bottom of the barrel. Honestly if I saw some of those nuns now I would spit in their faces. There are a couple of things that comfort me. There was one nun that was nice (very rare). I called the convent to see if she was still alive and wanted to write to her. The nun who answered the phone said you are going to write a nice letter to her, right. I am guessing people have written letters telling them they ruined their lives. Also due to the church is losing so many nuns and priest and not being replaced by 2025 the Catholic Church will cease to exist.

Thanks ed-pilling for your reply. Like you, my brother hit the 9 year mark as well. I got out after 5. And yes, it is a very tough movie to watch. I would just love to spit in all their faces! The evil b------!
Its funny, we had one nun as well, who was very nice and sweet. A bunch of us also tried to write her and see how she was. She even left the convent and got married!
Just too nice to stay a nun.
OH yeah, they have ruined countless lives and I hope there is a hell and they are all burning in it! And as for 2025 - no Catholic Church- I will throw a huge party!
BTW, there is a very good movie coming soon (this month I think) about the priests being pedophiles. Can't think of the name but will most definitely see it!
Have a wonderful day!

You might be thinking of the movie spotlight. It is based in Boston where I live. In our parish there was a priest I found a little odd. He went to every class room asking if any boys could help him out after school. I declined due to my paper route. Boy the nuns were pissed. Soon afterwards that priest worked in a halfway house and the police used to bring boys in trouble to him. Years later 7 boys came forward and said he molested them. From what I have read only 10% of victims come forward.

I did a search on "Sex in a Cold Climate" and found it on youtube. It has interviews with women that were in the Magdalene asylum. Honestly I wanted to hug them so hard that all the broken pieces would come back together.

If there is any real justice in life then those nuns are shoveling s**t in hell

reply

Yes, it was Spotlight. Great movie and you live in a GREAT town! Always loved Boston but so sad all that happened there. I believe the 10% part for sure.
As for real justice, I truly hope those nuns are shoveling s==t in hell! And worse!
