In my opinion, this movie is an insult to Lion King's name

Even then they left out the best part. I think it was called the "Ballad of Buzz" or “Old Fearless Buzz” something like that. Can be found in the Extras on the DVD.

I agree. Lion King 1 and 2 are two of my favourite movies of all time. I remembered that when I watched this one as a kid, I absolutely hated it. Couldn't remember why, and a few people I know were saying how great it is, so I went back and just re-watched it. I thought it was fun how they had Timon and Pumba be tied in, like with the bowing scene and collapse in the "I just wanna be king" song. But after that, it was just plain terrible.

The musical numbers weren't nearly as good as the first two, and there's barely any new conflict. It reeks of the new crap Disney, fluff story lines where the biggest problem is that the main character is kind of mean or odd, but it's okay because at the end he has a whole family and gets along with everyone now.

It'd be fine to distract a small child, but it will never reach the classic-great-at-any-age stage of the original Lion King movies.

I agree and share the same sentiments as you. This movie tarnishes the name of "The Lion King" which is an amazing movie. It's like if they had made "Forrest Gump" as the sequel to "Apocalypse Now". This triquel was totally unnecessary.

The animation is very good, but everything else isn't. Disney should have just used this quality of animation in the sequel and called it a day. No need for this third installment.

People enjoyed Timon and Pumba in TLK but no one wants to see an entire movie dedicated just to them. Movies about sidekicks don't work. Remember "Cars 2"?
