The Plot Should've Been About Zira's Backstory During The 1st Movie!

WTF?! Timon and Pumbaa ALREADY had a whole damn TV Series to do plots such as "what were we doing in the 1st movie before meeting Simba", did they really need a whole damn movie too? What a complete waste of time and money!

I'd much rather have had this movie explore where and what Zira's character was doing during The Lion King in order to bridge the gap (and make sense out of her existence in) The Lion King 2.

It would've been cool to have seen:

- Zira a part of the female lionesses of Mufasa's Pride during the 1st movie.
- Zira being the oddball/rebel/misunderstood outcast amongst the other female lionesses.
- Zira showing subtle, secret, signs of her love for Scar.
- (Obviously) Zira finally making her feelings known to Scar and the rest of the Pride that she loves Scar after he takes over and becomes King of Pride Rock.
- Zira having a twisted evil version of "The Circle of Life" birth scenes for the birth of her children with Scar: Nuka & Vitani.
- The mystery behind Kovu's father, his birth, Scar hand choosing him, etc.
- Zira pretending to be good for a while after Scar's death when Simba becomes King, and then launching a sneak revenge attack on him by killing off his 1st child, his son Kopa, which leads to her eventual exile to the Outlands.

THAT would've made for a MUCH better Lion King 1 1/2 movie IMHO!

OMG! Totally agree w/ you on this! unfortunately it'd probably lead to a lot of angry parents, So Disney would never bring out something like this.

Lion King 2 came out when I was 10, and even at that age I thought that LK2 didn't quite add up (W/ the obviously different looking newborn cubs at the ending of LK1 and at the beginning of LK 2), So if LK 1 1/2 was like this I would be happy w/ it and would be able to look at LK2 in higher regards.....

LK 1 1/2 was an annoying mess, imho.

It would be awesome if they would bring out another LK movie (they could call it LK 4 or 1 3/4or w/e they wanna call it) w/ the story line you mentioned and rate it pg-13 to avoid angry parents......i won't even hold my breath for a second that it'll happen, but it'd be awesome if it did.

1.5 should of been that, but have Scar's entire reign as king. open the movie up with Scar watchin Simba run from the hyenas and how he explained everything to the Pride, and how he slowly brought the land down. could of used him liking Nala storyline more as well, until he did eventually settled upon Zira.

Agreed, the plot of #2 was lame anyway, and had more holes than swiss-cheese. Well I agreed with the general idea anyway, I disagree with some of the specifics (Kovu and Kiara are too close in size to be two whole gestations apart IMO, and I don't believe that Zira was in the pride during Mufasa's time, but that's just semantics). Maybe it could also have explained why the heck so many lionesses chose to follow her, despite her apparently doing a crap job of just about everything.

I really hope they make a 4th movie, and make it a "proper" sequel. The crew behind The Lion King 2 put soo much effort and passion into making it, and maybe others think it's just another unnecessary Disney sequel but dammit I liked the 2nd movie!

Seriously, they made such a big deal about The Lion King 1 1/2 when it came out, and all it was was a parody! I remember when I was little and I liked TLK2 as much as TLK, so when TLK11/2 came out I wondered "What about Nuka and Zira? What about them?" It honestly makes me so disappointed they essentially made a movie about the Timon & Pumbaa TV series instead of another sequel.

As you said, hopefully someday they'll make another The Lion King sequel. There's certainly enough fans out there doing fan fics and fan arts out there to ensure it earns plenty!

ZIRA wasn't a character as popular as them.
