Questions for gamblers?

Now I really love this movie and watched it again recently via
HBO so my questions are for both gamblers and people who like
to frequent casinos in Reno and Las Vegas. By the way I am
not a gambler at all and do not patronize casinos in general.

1. Do modern casinos still use "coolers" to try to turn the
odds in their favor so that gamblers do not win too much
money?

2. The film was set in and released in 2003 so I will assume
that today's casino in 2014 are still employing coolers to
even out the odds.

3. Does every major hotel casino in Vegas & Reno have these
professional gamblers on their payroll?

Any answers appreciated.

I live in Las Vegas and work in one of the casinos. coolers have not been used around here since the early 80s. Once the big corporations moved in ( which was basically Ron Livingstons character) the old school Frank Sinatra Vegas ended. The games became mathematically impossible to win big over the long run anyway so the idea of a cooler in today's Vegas would be like seeing someone wear a powdered wig.

To add to your statement, I also work in a place and gamblers can be incredibly superstitious.
