2023 bump!! Monsters are Due on Maple Street... (Spoiler alert)

Aliens and our own evil government... interesting compared to the original.

So in this episode, it was our own government that was doing the experiment. How a community would react if isolated from the world during a terrorist attack. The twist at the end, is that even the gov. people doing the experiment didn't know if the only house that still had electricity was done on purpose. During the scene where the mob was burning down the house, the scene would cut to the "people" inside looking out, but only for split seconds. But in that split second, you can tell these people are weird with big black eyes. If you pause the scenes, you will see they are basically the popular alien greys. So I think the twist is that, they weren't terrorists, but actually Aliens, this is a nod to the original episode. But again, the gov. people doing the surveillance didn't know if they themselves left the light on, so they certainly didn't know aliens were in there... yet they stood there watching this mob burn down a house with what they thought were people in it. Hmm...

Forest Whitaker concludes with some commentary on people along the same lines as Rod Serling, but I thought the elephant in the room was the government letting the "people" in the house burn. LOL! It would have been equally poignant for him to comment on the lengths that government will go through experimenting/killing their own people.
