Tries to be the Twilight Zone, misses even moreso than the 80s reboot

I'll preface by saying, I grew up watching the 80s reboot of The Twilight Zone, and always got it to be "this dark and terrible place that only exists in the darkest corners of the cosmos." When they were remaking The Twilight Zone I got kind of excited by that, but I never did see the 2002 reboot until a few days ago.

Like I just said, as a kid I watched the 80s reboot, so I wasn't really knowledgeable on the subject matter, but not too long ago I watched through a lot of the original Twilight Zone, and while I liked the 80s version, it swings and misses most of the time. That said, the 2000s Twilight Zone just whiffs every time.

After the first episode, I was actually appalled. Between Korn making their own rock and roll rendition of the Twilight Zone theme song, to the disgusting story of a girl whose family is proud of her for betraying the one person on the planet who trusted and needed her most, and how joyful she is at having her sister slaughtered. That's not only downright outrageous, it's a travesty, and the fact they had the audacity to put Serling's name on this is a true affront.

There is NO WAY that Rod Serling would have ever agreed to stories of this nature, if his family actually agreed to this series being made, they should be ashamed for exploiting their father's name and dragging him through the mud with tales like this.

Despicable.
