Much much different now, in the 30s the US and world were still industrializing very very quickly, the depression then was man made.
Know the problem ismso much has been automated, there is no room for any growth,that is why peoples primary source of weatth turned into a ponzi scheme-real estate, as building pointless new houses on overvalued land was all we could do.
