Do they trick or treat in Ireland?

In the movie Ginger Lynn's character said they did in a really bad Irish accent. I thought trick or treating only happened in the states.

Ireland invented Halloween, yes they do "trick or treat". Halloween is derived from ancient Druid ceremonies

We don't really trick or treat, we just get drunk and hurl fireworks at old people. It's an ancient tradition.

What a load of bull. Irish kids don't collect money. They collect money in the UK for Guy Fawkes . In ireland they do Trick'r'treat. They have done so for many years, although before Halloween was commercialised it was known as "Helping the halloween party."
