personally i hated it, but that's only my opinion, and really the only reason i saw it was for extra credit in a class. It's just not my cup of tea...

What did you hate about it? I've heard some people say that it didn't go far enough into the war, giving sort of a superficial look that most people with a couple history classes knew, but I sort of liked that it wasn't a scholar movie and more of a observation movie by one the orchestrators of it. The movie was more about learning R.M. logic than learning about Vietnam or war.
