I think...

I think I would prefer Cruel Intentions over this any day. Anyone else?

Mathilda, don't you ever do that again or I'll break your head, you got that?

Well, I would definitely not prefer Cruel intentions over this ANY day, BUT, am I the only one here who thought it was pretty bad? I like Ruppert Everret but pleaaaase... he does a pathetic job! Valmont is really not credible... as if he wanted to picture a bad guy with some deeeeeep hidden feelings... but all he could get was a caricature of a bad guy with stomach issues.

I did not enjoy it. It was quite boring... Read the book, instead of watching this.

No, you certainly not the only one here who thinks this film is pretty bad. Once upon a time, in my youth, I was enthralled by Vadim's adaptation, but unfortunately his film has not aged well. The remarkable adaptation by Stephen Frears is superb on all accounts, and when one thinks that it is an Hollywood remake...Bravo Stephen.

I think this movie felt like a soap opera.......

I think the main thing that makes this film suffer is the length. However, I did find it much more interesting and subtle than the teen film Cruel Intentions; while this version at least has good actors, there was bad acting all around in CI.
