Feh!

I'm an American Jew with dual Israeli citizenship, so I got all the jokes. I find this movie to be only slightly more offensive than "Zohan" was.

I got all the jokes, I just don't like being hit over the head with them. "Airplane" shot more jokes at the audience than a Vulcan cannon sprays lead and expended uranium, but they did it in a way that wasn't "heavy-handed".

Jews excel at humor, especially self-deprecatory humor. Woody Allen's early stand-up routines regularly dealt with "Jewish Guilt" and I laughed (and still do)at the split-second scene in "Airplane" when you see the Air Israel jet wearing a beard and payot. ("payes" to some)

Isn't it utterly ironic that we Jews literally invented the new medium of film and yet when a movie is produced involving Jewish characters and/or a Jewish theme it almost always portrays us in a negative light??? I wish there were more films like "Exodus" and fewer of "Inglorious Basterds", but I'm not in charge of things. I can only vote with my wallet and write comments on discussion boards such as this.

I rented this on Netflix out of curiosity and I'm glad I saw it, even if I didn't enjoy it.
