can someone help me with music please?

This is gonna be very vague, but I remember my boyfriend was playing this and he told me about a group/singer he thought were great on it but he can't find them in the shops. All I can remember is they were Japanese.... I'm sure someone could even give me a list of singers from it I could remember what it was when I saw it. His birthday is coming up and I wanted to buy some of this music for him. Thank you xxxxxxxxxx
