Realistic??

Can somebody please tell me...in what way at all...this game resembles a realistic driving simulator??? I'm sorry, but I have driven several cars that are in the game, including the SRT-4, RX-7, 3000GT VR-4, 300ZX, etc, and all of these cars turn when you move the steering wheel in real life. Even the front-drive SRT. Every single car in this game plows like it weighs 6000 lbs, regardless of your speed, 20, or 120. I have driven some of those cars on a track(not a street racer) and they are all capable of taking 45 degree or greater turns at well over 80 MPH. If someone can provide an example of a car in this game that drives like it's real life counterpart, please let me know. I just don't see any aspect of the physics that could be considered realistic. That's not even mentioning the "meticulous" detail and care they put into making the cars sound realistic, from all angles. Most all the cars sound either muffled, or too high pitched...in other words, it sounds like a video game, not a real car. The worst example I've found is with the SRT-4...I mention again because I own one, and drive it everyday, so you would imagine I have some idea of how it should sound. I challenge anyone to look up a video of an SRT with sound, and compare it to the game sounds. Not even close. It's also no where near fast enough...but I came to expect unrealistic times in this game, even with the proper car specs listed. To me, it doesn't seem as though they cared...and yes I've read all the great reviews...I don't see it. For realistic sounds, play Need For Speed: Undergound 2, Most Wanted, or Carbon...all of these games have the sounds of the cars perfect, and react accordingly to upgrades with noticeable changes in sound. Thoughts??

If you read correctly, I didn't once say that Need For Speed was realistic, that's hardly the point of the game...the cars are too fast, and obviously you can't take any corner you please at 120 mph. I only said the sounds were better, and I stand by it. Listen to a ZO6 or Camaro in the real world, then go listen to the same car in the game, almost all the cars are too high pitched, or too muffled. My problem with the physics in the game is that even if you slow to 30 or 40 miles an hour, if you aren't in the gear, or the exact speed the game wants, the car won't attempt to turn, it plows straight through the corner. The fact of the matter at least to me, is that cars in the real world are far more forgiving than that, especially with high quality tires they have in the game. My SRT will turn at 60, or 70, or maybe higher(but I don't have a death wish) if I am going in a straight line and crank the wheel. GT4 is realistic, but leaves no room for error. In my opinion, there is more then one way to succesfully navigate a race course, and in the case of the higher performance cars in this game, one way is the way to do it the game suggests, another would be to turn the wheel, downshift, and slide the rear end out in a controlled manner, and nail the gas on the outset of the turn.

Yeah. The game isn't perfect but atleast they are getting there. There is so much stuff in the car world (performance, look, sound, the tracks + much much muuuuch more) you can expect the creators of the game to get it all right. With that said I still think the research in all the games so far has been very impressive. Much better than any other racing game that I can think of. The grip in the game is a very common complaint so the makers will fix that I'm guessing but remember there is a very thin line between realistic game play, challenging game play and enjoyable game play.

Guys, this is a GAME, not a MOVIE. So what if the sound is not accurate? If you're gonna judge stupid details like that, rather watch a movie or buy a car.
