question about the halloween episode...

If "Do Over" took place between 1980 and 1981, and Ghostbusters came out in 1984... then how did he find a ghostbusters costume in that time? I'm assuming he knitted it, because he was very knowledgeable... or it's a very bad goof. Your thoughts... thanks.
