Did she die in the end? I'm a bit confused. I thought Everette was just going to beat her up, did he end up beating her to death her in the process or something?

Yes Everette basically kicked her to death. Silver comes back to their house and finds her. Then he goes out to Tom's farm and hangs himself.
When Tom is at the cemetery they show headstones for Silver & Madonna.

Same here, it actually made me shed a bit of tears for the brother and sister's siutuation.
I'm surprised it's barely known tho', then again i shouldn't be since it's Canadian.

Yes, the situation of Madonna & Silver is pretty sad. It doesn't surprise me that more in the US don't know about it since it is Canadian. I watched it because I'm a fan of the actress who played Madonna, Joanne Kelly. :D

Yes, i remember seeing her on this tv movie where she gets accidentally knocked up with her ex bf's kid, and has to take responsibilities and be a mom. I thought she was good there. Then when i saw this movie on tv, i thought she looked familiar until i remembered she was in that other movie i saw. She's a good and versatile actor, she needs to be more known and credited :)

Ah, Playing House, my fav movie of hers. :D I have it on DVD. You can get it from a company in Australia. Sadly that's the only country that's manufactured DVDs of it. If you get it, you should be able to play it on your computer DVD player (if you have one).
I can recommend the following (both on Hulu if you can access it):
The Dresden Files, ep called Bad Blood (she plays Bianca) and the whole ep revolves around her charcter
Also check out Vanished, she was Sara Collins in it.
S2 of Jeremiah - she was Libby.
And if you haven't checked it out, Warehouse 13, the show she is currently starring in. S1 is out on DVD and S2 just wrapped up. There is a Holiday special due on sometime in December. We're still waiting on word that they got S3.
