I thought this movie was pretty good. It's more of a drama than romance. Kids struggling with their emotions and how to come out. It's a very typical, your coming out teenager movie. Nothings special. It's a bit boring, which I think played a huge role in its rating. The camerawork needs a lot of improvement. Camera only sits in one area, not zooming in people's faces enough. DRINK COFFEE.

Overall, it's not bad. The guy who plays Seth is insanely attractive. I enjoyed the part where he just let it all go. The way he cried out- wow. I was surprised the movie was made in 2000. Their hairstyles/clothes were 90'ish. The story is outdated as well. The quality isn't so great. I gave it 7 stars.

I really hate all the bad reviews and ratings this movie has gotten. Sure it was unrealistic and a tad bad but I think it was good positive sort of drama somewhat.
A partial reason could be that people were expecting gay romance and are starving for it to be totally perfect and happy. This isn't it of course.
This is an average sappy family drama teaching general life lessons and such. Deserving of a 5-6 but I rated it a 10 to negate some of the low scores.
