Spelled out for all of you...

Okay, I've yet to see a post that points out what seemed fairly obvious to me in watching this film.

*Spoilers*

Lots of people asking about the ending, lots of people clearly confused and treating the whole movie like it's actually "real" (in the movie's own universe/reality) when the whole thing is merely what's happening in Simon J's head (think similar to Fight Club only this one doesn't overtly reveal it to you, One Point 0's way of being much more adept at inflicting the main character's own twisted reality upon the viewer).

Simon is THE ONLY real person/character within the story, except perhaps the store clerk that rings up his obsessive milk purchases. You never noticed how everyone's wearing THE SAME THING every single time you/Simon sees them? Trish isn't real, his neighbors aren't real, and his bike messenger buddy is the one that practically gave all of this subtext away: always wearing that same red riding outfit, showing up just in time to stop Simon from actually getting help... You can see it now? Maybe watch it again now that you're armed with this new, penetrating insight?

So the end... should be pretty clear cut once you understand that the movie starts off with Simon being mentally ill, as the film progresses so does his illness, until finally he surrenders to it totally and there is almost no chance of his ever 'coming back', he's off the deep end.
