Why is this movie dated in 2005, if was released in 2002?

Why is this movie dated in 2005, if was released in 2002? I don't know why the people of IMDB changed this date. This film is from 2002, not from 2005.

due to the actors death (kevin smith) during filming the movie was not released in 2002. re shoots needed to be done. the movie was finally released in 2005. IMDB should have changed it by NOW!!

I'm watching it now on Netflix and it says 2002, someone is wrong. On the same note, it could have been released in one part of the world one year and released in another part later and IMDB may be pretending the 2002 release didn't happen.

I saw this film in 2005 and at the time until 2 or 3 years ago, this movie was like if it were released in 2002. IMDb changed the date realease for some reason...
