in enemy hands... opened in Malaysia last week

In Enemy hands has opened on several screens across this country since thursday. As malaysia is often the dumping ground for b-grade actioners (aka rejects) .. doesn't look good for the movie. However, i intend to check it out later in the week. Will post some thoughts after that.

I live in KL, Malaysia. I saw this about a month ago, I can't believe its not out in the US yet. My friends and I thought it was only ok. A lot of the movie is in German, without translation, so I didn't understand what was going on. Plus, they cut to real footage a lot, which was kind of dissapointing because I had seen a few of the clips before. Definitely a low budget movie... Malaysia isn't a dumping ground for grade B movies, I don't know where you heard that. Shrek 2, Spiderman, Star Wars Episode II all came out here before the US

Hmm, weird that there weren't any subtitles. But I agree, with previous posts, its good that at least someone has a total different opinion, and I always believed the subject itself, is very interesting.

The movie was just released in Malaysia on VCD (Speedy). The dialogue in German is subtitled in English. I rather liked the movie. Mainly because of its anti-war message and how when Germans and Americans worked together to survive most were able to respect each other by directing their focus on their common humanity and job skills. Idealistic, but definitely a great message.
Of course "Das Boot" is tops in this category of films.

In Malaysia too. Overall the movie has the look and feel of a tv movie. I like William H Macy but this was kinda sad. It wasn't extremely bad, just the kind of movie that could have been better in the hands of another production team and could have used a lo more test screenings.

Tighter editing would have helped. Like throwing out some (or all) of the scenes between Macy and his wife. It was just too soppy, especially since Macy looks too old for the lady and they look like they're 'acting' with each other. A lot more frustration and anger on the part of the German crew would have helped too.
