at least Jimmy had a talk show to fall back on.

if he had a big movie career, he'd never have hosted his own late night shows.

8. Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon, the new king of late night, was never a huge in the stand-up, but anyone who uses their stage skills to land a gig on Saturday Night Live has to qualify for a spot on this list.

What Fallon does very well is endear himself to live audiences with his aww shucks nice guy routine. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, which is evident in the number of times that he breaks down laughing at his own jokes, both on SNL and on his talk show.

But that’s not a possibility in movies. You can’t make a whole movie out of what amounts to blooper reel material, which is literally the only worthwhile part of any Jimmy Fallon movie. What you’re left with after the giggle fits have subsided is a lukewarm actor with very little comedic range trying to convince the audience to sit through 90 minutes of him looking like a terrified elementary school kid trying to remember his lines in the annual play.

Fever Pitch allowed him the safety net of Drew Barrymore, who was still a dazzling charmer at that stage in her career, and elevated his stiff, wooden, terribly uncharismatic performance into endurable territory. But when paired opposite Queen Latifah, Fallon literally couldn’t be any more awkward and unwatchable. It’s painful to watch him stretch his acting chops as far as they’ll go, and still end up looking like Rob Schneider having an off day.
