Tig the Dog Goof

Early in the film, Costner says about Tig, "she's still got the heart, but not the legs." Then after he's buried Tig and Mose, he says, "He was more his (Mose's) dog than mine." Was the dog a male or a female?

It's not unusual to do that. Our dogs have been referred to as both him and her when they were the opposites as well and we only had one dog at the time. It's no mistake, except verbally and that's pretty normal.

That's bizarre. I've had dogs all my life and never heard anybody who knew a dog refer to it by the wrong sex. Only strangers who are not "dog people" seem to call all dogs "he" regardless of which sex they actually are.

Male, but seeing as it gets pretty lonely out there on the prairie, it's hinted that Waite (and Mose) had their degenerate ways with that poor dog.

Might as well spell it out ; male or not, that dog was their bitch.

Shame on you, Kevin Costner...

F*UCK this movie, the screen writer didn't even know what gender the dog is. Totally fuqked it up. Thanx for pointing out the truth.

There were two different dogs used for filming, like the Olsen twins.

What?

You mean one of the Olsen twins is a dude?!

Yikes!

Um ... which one?
