Most Depressing Movie I Have Ever Seen
I am just not rooting for anyone in this film. The dim-witted home owner who looses her house because she was too dim-witted to open her mail. The new home owner who rules his home with an iron fist; literally. The wife who doesn't know when to lay off. The son for destroying negotiations and having the worst possible timing. The boyfriend/cop for leaving his family and the cop's wife for making a scene with the kids in the van. I'm ok with her making a big stink at his job, but keep the kids out of it. The county for not allowing a period of reclamation after a tax sale to avoid situations exactly like the one here. The state which created the environment of not having affordable housing in certain parts of California. This movie for having us believe you can purchase a beach front property in California at auction for $45k or purchase the propperty from the owner for $174k for that matter; when the owner could have gotten 1/2 million easy for the house.
