I don't know if I just missed any references but where is the movie set? They talk about Texas so they aren't in Texas other than that I don't know.
Overall a good but not great movie. I was helf expecting some kind of gay relationship between Rusty and Bob.

It looks to be Southern California. (The cars had California license plates.)
shareIn the beginning, when Shawn's character Rusty is speaking...he says they moved to California. It's said when he tells how the death of this father devastated them so, they had to get away from the rodeo scene....plus Rusy's mom didn't want Rusty to become a rodeo cowboy.
