How did these actresses end up in this movie?

Chloe from 24, a former NYPD Blue regular, and an actress who I know I've seen some other movies...what are they doing in this? I can't have been for a paycheck, considering the movie clearly seems to have had a budget of about 100 bucks. It seriously looks as if it was filmed with a cam-corder.

My initial suspicion, assuming they're not good friends with the director, is blackmail. Maybe these girls were at a party with in L.A., maybe some Lakers (or worse, Clippers) were present, and there's filmakers got ahold of some incriminating photos that they don't want to see the light of day. :)

Predator2c,

Your suspicions are incorrect. They were chosen through the proper casting channels. The actresses in question are Mary Lynn Rajskub('Punch Drunk Love', 'Legally Blonde 2'), Sheeri Rappaport('Little Witches') & Melanie Lynskey('Heavenly Creatures', 'Sweet Home Alabama', 'Shattered Glass'). No blackmail was involved.

Melanie Lynskey agreed to be in the film because she was good friends with the director, Mark Tapio Kines (so you were almost right, predator2c). They had worked together before and as far as I'm aware Lynskey was the first person cast in the movie and didn't have to audition for her part.

The film was obviously very low-budget and hurriedly shot (in 9 days!) but it does have its merits. I thought it was just the right side of quirky, with an interesting concept and some great splashes of dark humour. I know the 'video' look can put a lot of people off but this wasn't an issue for me.

I rather see a movie with bad quilaty, that i like, then se a movie with a lot of CGI, that sucks (With that i mean a film like Alexander, etc) I think it was a good film. Not to much action, but it wasent ment to be an action movie. It stands Horro og genre?? And it showed what can happen in real life, it have happent in the United States a couple of times before.
