Jim Carey is probably the worst part of this movie

Watching it I can picture the script, and it would work on paper, so I blame Jim Carey.

I guess the story is about an everyday man who wishes he had power as he is powerless more or less. Yet Carey seems to exude overconfidence in everything he does. He is tall, but not in an awkward lanky way, more of a "I'm big and fill the room" kind of way.

That's why he was perfect in the Mask as the Mask. (He even seemed to pull off the downcast man in that.) But this is Jim Carey superstar 2003, not 1994, and he seems sort of cocky.

I think this is why the sequel is regarded as a better movie by many. Steve Carrel has that everyday man feel.
