As a Catholic should I watch this?

I don't find the movie to be offensive it's just should I watch it.

It's a somewhat decent movie. It just depends if you take on the movie's message as opposed to picking all the problems in it.

It's a silly Jim Carrey comedy. I'm sure you can guess what it will be like.

It dwells with many aspects of the lore surrounding the abrahamic God, and he's presented as a benevolent father. You definitely should see it. It presents a very specific image of God that many catholics share.

I'm a Roman Catholic and I love this movie.

It's a great movie, really shows many moral while at the same time having fun imagining what would it be like to have the power to bend reality.

whats it matter if you are catholic or not. the catholic church has many traditions and beliefs that are unscriptural for example catholics teach that Jesus was Mary's only child when the bible is clear that mary and joseph had several children

It's fiction not sacrilege.

I don't think there's a "should" when it comes to movies.

Movies are flawed, agenda-filled form of conditioning and indoctrination, disguised as 'entertainment'. Some movies succeed in entertaining, others in those other departments, but there is no such thing as a 'perfect movie' as far as I know.

If we take things a bit further away from the everyday perspective, then - if you think the movie will piss you off, anger you or be annoying, you probably should watch it. It's good for our spiritual evolution to go through hardships and difficulties, and it will grow us as human beings. The more garbage we expose ourselves to, the less it will affect us in the long run, so we can soon endure almost anything.

Plus, there's the whole 'karmic debts' thing, but perhaps your 'catholicism' prevents you from knowing about it.

In any case, if you watch a movie, you should probably do it as a human being instead of 'as a catholic'. Why be a superficial, artificial structure based on man-made dogma, when you can be something real and existing?
