So bad it's good category

Movie lovers all know the drill. There are the good movies that we watch and the bad movies that we watch. We all know about the "they're so bad they're good category." For me, "Twisted" must go into that group. This movie is full of so many contrivances that it is puzzling that this got a major movie release. It reminds me of straight to cable for sure. Some of the dialogue is atrocious and there are a few irritating things in "Twisted." Judd's ex-beau Jimmy has got to be one of the most annoying characters in the history of film! The way he hangs around all the time acting obsessed and spaced out is too much. Samuel Jackson who is usually very good in just about everything he's in, mails in his performance here. If Andy Garcia uttered the line "hey you're my partner" one more time, I was gonna reach into the tv and throttle him! (What about his out of nowhere outbursts too!) Or his instant love attraction to Judd without any hesitation, even though he was assigned as her work partner. (Hey the guy was lonely!) And I like Andy Garcia!! There was also that other cop friend of Judd's who seemed to like to tell her, "I got you're back Jess!" Okay we all get it , you got this girl's back! How about that completely despicable cop that was jealous of her. His smirk was a complete irritation in itself! Or how about that total creep they had in custody? He was just completely taxing on one's nerves! The last thing I can think of was that scumbag's defense lawyer (who was one of Judd's ex-lovers). Another obnoxious guy who was just downright sleazy! But even though I criticize it for being phony and ridiculous, I still enjoy watching it. I bought it too because I have watched it many times. I only buy movies that I like and "Twisted" is on my shelf. I guess I just really enjoy a lot of thrillers and this one is certainly not boring and always holds my attention. It is the kind of movie that gets me hooked in even though I know the outcome. Ashley Judd is a good actress and does well here with the ludicrous material she was given. (I laugh every time she does her pass out scenes. Unintentionally funny!) She comes off too smart and classy to play this character but I still like the movie regardless. When I look at "Twisted" as a whole, I find it somewhat of an intriguing thriller.
