Well, first:
Do you have a multi-region DVD player or computer?
If you don't have a MR DVD player, it will be fine on a computer but dn't change the region system too many times because on my laptop, I have no changes remaining, so its stuck on Region 2 (my actual region.)

You can buy the dvds from:

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/mech/quicksearch.zml?f=title&q=worst+witch

You can also get, as 1 & 2, and 3&4, The New Worst Witch

If you bought 1-4:

Series 1 & 2 4 Disc Set $39.83 ("$" being the Australian Dollar)
Series 3 & 4 4 Disc Set $39.83

Total (Inlcuding Postage)

$90.66

In GBP (United Kingdom Pound:

£43.74

In USD (United States Dollar)

$86.85

There you go fellow Worst Witch fan!

If the lap top is still fixed to one particular region then it might be worth looking for other software players for playing disks from other regions. Practicalities of disk availability, some stuff is not easily available in any one region. A lap top can have a need for empowerment.

I assume that the player that one uses day to day now is likely to remain your first choice, when practical.

I tried to give some additional information re that on The Worst Witch 1998 message board under the heading The Australian DVDs April and May 2008.

If one has a collection of magasine cover disks then these are an obvious source of different versions of the various freeware and shareware players. I have not tried the most recent versions as these are tending to be only useable on the current versions of the operating systems and I prefer Windows 98 for End User reasons. So, my elderly machines tend to not be of any use with a modern OS.

Context:

By low income levels these are expensive.

But the UK£40+ is for 53 episodes, on 8 new disks.

Pay 50% more and there are another 26 episodes and a feature. New.

From the viewpoint of new DVDs these are budget price. It was amazing to find them and purchase them, like finding the last five seasons of Buffy.

That is still way above what I normally pay for DVDs. I assume that these should gradually become available at second hand prices, especially in Australia.

Could be that pointers to Australian second hand shops could be useful. The Amazon system does not work yet for these, but is maybe heading that way?
