Why didn't they use bumpmap texturing?


I suppose the correct term is normal mapping. The technology existed back then.
They could have also used multitexturing to add more detail.
They could have applied normal mapping on Chode (the yellow spots) and on T'nuk (the skin bumps).

Without those FX, it looks more cartoony.
