The 'Press' aboard the Fleet

I've been amused by all the reporters who are stuck there in the fleet of ships and even though they really have no jobs anymore (where do they report all the things they discover? There are radio stations or tv stations or whatver amongst the ships or what? Have some of them banded together to make their own "media"?) they still carry on doggedly interviewing the president as though the media outlets they worked for before still exist.

Seems like they do it more out of habit or to keep from going mad from boredom. Can you imagine being stuck on an airliner for months? Some of the smaller ships have to be like that. The ones on Galactica have it alittle better but even a big military ship would be confining.

I suppose the only reason so many of them are even there though is because they were covering the closing down of the Galactica ceremony?

They all became independent bloggers in the matter of hours.

Yes, there are radio stations on the fleet. IIRC, we hear election coverage being broadcast on the radio on one occasion.

And yeah, Laura was travelling back on a transport with a bunch of press people on it who had been covering the decommissioning ceremony. I imagine those who could tried to stay press.

In a similar vein, I had a chuckle today that they had a podium with an official seal on it for the President to speak from (and I'm just in season one.)
