Whatever Happened to Boxy?

Hey all,
I've seen most of the episodes either online or DVD. Just got around to watching the miniseries. Was just wondering what happened to the kid, Boxy from the miniseries. Was he given a writeout or did he simply disappear without mention?

He disappeared without mention

He does show up again, briefly in one episode, and a couple of deleted scenes.

He's one of those characters that u want to see from time to time..

reply

No he isn't I was very happy to see he was cut out of the show early and never seen again.

He wasn't important to the new Battlestar and I am glad, the last thing we needed was a kid genuis or the smart geeky kid (like Wesly Crusher from Star Trek). This ain't the cute BSG from the 1970s. This one was serious.

At least he didn't have a robot dog (midget in a suit bent over). Gawd I hated that thing.

I believe the kid got sick so they decided to write him out

Actually it was a Chimp in a suit

I was so glad he never showed up again. God would that have been an annoying storyline.

It wasn't a midget. They used a chimpanzee.

Every person that served can be called a veteran, but not every veteran can be called a Marine.

I remember reading early on that they were going to keep him in the story but just couldn't because of time constraints. Adults don't do a good job at writing for kids typically. All you ever get is a kid bumbling into something and then while the adults try to save him from himself the kid somehow miraculously saves the day. I just watched the mini-series for the first time in years and loved the way they cut out all of his dialogue. You could just tell that Boxy died on the cutting room floor.
