SPOILERS 'Out families will be taken care of'

I enjoyed how in the original they had that extra 5mill each stashed, and they were worried that the fellow from the agency were on to them. After Brooks complained about the wasted expense, Douglas says that he is sure that the 2 families will be well provided for. Is there anything specific in the movie that correlates with this statement? Did something get left on the cutting room floor that would have made this a little less cryptic? (Is there something I'm missing?)

Well, the box of money that Jean-Pierre took onto the sub only had a "taste" of the $170 million that was supposed to be there. It is never explained where the rest of the money is.

Yeah, I think in this one they had a lot more than $5M each. The box only had a very small amount of money in it, and it wasn't at Steve's warehouse (toward the end Steve tells Angela it's there, and she says she checked and it isn't) so Steve clearly hid most of it somewhere.

I would almost bet that Steve didn't turn in the 150 or so million that no one knows exists, except a lying terrorist who will not be believed.
I know I wouldn't. Steve probably knows how to launder it also.

Be yourself, everyone else is taken

In addition to cash there appeared to be a lot of bearer bonds since $170M in US currency would take up the better part of a room and not just a 2 foot box...the bonds would be untraceable.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
