I just learned today that even Babbit passed three years ago.
It's so awesome that this movie made it just in the nick of time for most of these guys before we lost them all.
Bob Babbit brought artistry to playing the bass guitar. All of the Funk Brothers were just exceptional musicians. RIP, Guys. You did good.
shareI am a singer/songwriter based in Nashville Tn. I was fortunate enough to work with Bob not long before he passed away. It was an amazing day and we actually video taped it. The video won a "TELLY AWARD" for short form video. He played on my song, LESS IS MORE. It was one of the last video taped things he did.
Also on the song was TOMMY WELLS, a drummer also from the Motown era. He too has passed on.
An amazing legend. RIP.
