Factual error on Thor

When Stan is discussing Mighty Thor and mentions his hammer Mjolnir he claims that the name isn´t real and that it was his brother came up with, but that is in fact wrong. It decends all the way from the Aesir Cult, the religion of the vikings. Being Swedish and all it´s common knowledge to me. Even though I haven´t been a heavy reader on Thor comics I´ve noticed many things being adapted from the same mytology and Mjolnir is no exception.
Not to suggest Stan Lee is an ignorant moron or anything, he can make mistakes just like the rest of us. :)

Thanks for this affirmation.
Stan Lee made me pretty unsure about the origin of the name Mjolnir.

But he pronounced it wrong. You speak the "o" like an "ö". Am I right?

Not necessarily. Since English is his first language it´s no big deal if he says it with an "o" instead of an "ö". Here in Sweden we pronounce lots of foreign words in our own way and the same is occuring all over the world.

He may have meant the name of the metal that Mjolnir is made of (uru), which he did make up.

Quote "It doesn't matter how you pronounce it, I think it's something my brother Larry thought up" Stan doesn't know if it's real or not. Larry Lieber named the hammer after the one in the mythos.
