Well, the wife doesn't come home one night and the husband finds her sitting at the dining room table in the morning. He tells her that up until last night he thought that he had been misreading her behavior. Then he asks her if she is staying or not and she says that she is staying. He gets a bit angry and throws her purse around. One of their daughters starts calling for the dad. The father tells the mother to go, but she says that she only makes the daughter cry more. Before he goes upstairs, he tells the mom that he wants to know who the guy is.

The last scene is of both parents in the dentist office and he is checking her teeth. She asks, "How are they?" He says that he will tell her in a little while and then starts cleaning her teeth. I really don't know if she was asking about her teeth or her kids. You missed the end, and sad to say, I missed the beginning so I hope this information makes sense! :)

Also, I would like to know what the name of the classical song that the dad was playing on the piano was too!

Actually, he says he does NOT want to know who the guy was, or what they did.

Furthermore, Dana asked "How are they?" in reference to her teeth after a voice over narration in which Dave discusses how the concept of teeth is an impossibility, but regardless, they exist -- a lot like marriage. So, when Dana is asking about her teeth, the movie is insinuating that Dana is really asking about her marriage. His ambiguous response indicates that we never know if the union of Dana and Dave survives after the film or not. Hope that helps.

JM.

PS. The song is Moonlight Sonota - Beethoven.

Yeah, I can't believe I wasted my time with this movie. It's pure butt. He should have started destroying her teeth or something, or maybe stabbed her in the eye with a pick.

reply

Yeah, that's realistic.

it was in that other movie, The Dentist...
