movie should have ended in 5 minutes

I liked this film, but the husband should have walked right up to the other man and said "How do you know my wife?"

Yes, I realize that would have ended the movie after only five minutes or so, but that is how I'd have handled that situation. I guess that the Campbell Scott character couldn't be that direct, so he had to suffer in silence.

Isn't this available for most movies? Especially horror movies! Saying what a character should have done to avoid the plot of the film and cut the character development etc. It's easy to discard a film based on this premise. I guess with films like this, it's a matter of leave it or take it. You must either like the director or the actor(s) or have other reasons to stick with a movie like this. I am a huge fan of Campbell Scott and I wanted to watch this film til the end because of him. And I wasn't disappointed! It was a good movie in my opinion.

I thought Dave's reaction was perfectly natural - not going directly to his wife's changing room when he saw her with that man. Most people avoid confronting situations like this directly, on the spot, in person, especially when there's lots of other people around. Did it occur to you that Dave would've walked right up to her wife and the other man had they been in an empty place where there was only the three of them? Unlike what you see on reality television shows, people in real life suspect that their partners are having an affair from a distance until they are more certain about proving things. The suffering in silence aspect that you brought up was Dave's emotional frustrations come to light triggered by the suspicion of cheating. It was a great psychological character study!
